Erin’s husband’s dream – Running through Crashing Waves

The Lord confirmed to me that the dream that follows below, as given to my husband, was from Him. This is what He said to me later that day…
Jesus: “Now, your husband had a dream about the supernatural navigation of massive waves. His dream was about the harnessing of living water and the power over this. All of you are being prepared.”
Given that this dream has now been confirmed as being from the Lord, we thought we would share this amazing dream with all of you. For clarity, please note that my husband, not me (a first for the dreams posted on this site, but was too amazing not to include), wrote the following…

Well, I had a super cool dream last night that was mixed with a small miracle. This was longer and more detailed than any dream I can recall. The dream even had a sound track! For those who feel so inclined, listen to the following and imagine this playing after you have read the below. The background song is linked as follows:

I will reference the part of the song that tied in with each part of this dream. It started off as Casting Crowns singing it and then it morphed seamlessly into the sound of a Heavenly choir. This is the first time I have ever heard a Heavenly choir in my dreams and now I finally understand why Erin finds this so amazing. It really is nothing like on Earth.
Background on this song: For whatever reason, this song always comes on the Christian radio station just before I go into battle with my enemies. Well, this time, it came on in my dreams. We are fighting some major enemies right now and the stage has been set for victory.
Perhaps this song coming on is a hint that this battle will be really soon. In essence, the song is about the enemy lying to us that we are useless to win against him and that the Voice of Truth from Jesus is reality and we need to listen to this instead.
Before going to sleep last night, I was worried about this upcoming battle as my throat was sore and I was getting really sick. While Erin prayed with me for this to be removed before we went to bed, nothing happened…yet.
Unbeknownst to Erin, I woke up around 2am and my throat was REALLY sore now. How was I going to face our giants with a raspy sore throat? I was worried and I prayed again to the Lord for help. I soon fell asleep again.
Anyways, here is my dream mapped out to the lyrics of the song (note that the music and lyrics were out of order from the original, but flowed perfectly, as if it had been written that way)…
The sea remains dark and foreboding throughout the dream. However, where I am fearful as to what lies underneath, I soon realize that God is with me. My fear is then replaced with exhilaration of what He is about to do with us.
Stage 1 – The calm before the storm: I am swimming in a choppy sea, no dangerous waves yet. I am merely floating in the sea, no real course, no real knowledge as to what I am to do.
Music and lyrics in the background: “Oh what I would do to have the kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I’m in onto the crashing waves, to step out of my comfort zone to the realm of the unknown where Jesus is and He’s holding out his hand”
Stage 2 – The storm begins: The waves pick up and I start swimming headfirst into them. They are getting bigger and I am fearful. I swim as hard as I can and take a deep breath just before heading into another crashing wave. This continues for way too long.
Music and lyrics in the background: “But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me, reminding me of all the times I’ve tried before and failed. The waves they keep on telling me time and time again, ‘Boy, you’ll never win! You’ll never win!’ Oh what I would do to have the kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant with just a sling and a stone, surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors shaking in their armor wishing they’d have had the strength to stand. But the giant’s calling out my name and he laughs at me, reminding me of all the times I’ve tried before and failed. The giant keeps on telling me time and time again, “Boy, you’ll never win! You’ll never win!”
As this repeats, I realize that my situation is hopeless as the waves are getting bigger and bigger. The waves are now easily a hundred feet high.
Stage 3 – Best swimmer in history: The thought of Jesus had been shielded from me and I finally remembered He is bigger than any wave and any giant. I prayed for strength as I languished against these mighty waves.
Music and lyrics in the background: “But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story. And the Voice of Truth says, ‘Do not be afraid!’ And the Voice of Truth says, ‘This is for My glory!’ Out of all the voices calling out to me, I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.”
This kept repeating as I now started to swim faster than a dolphin. I smashed straight into each wave effortlessly and came out the other side unscathed. I was breathing with ease and this continued for some time. The Voice of Truth lyrics continued to rise in crescendo and switched to the Heavenly choir. Needless to say, I was now having such fun.
I then decided to check if I could run on top of the water. I could! I ran as fast as I could and I leapt over these massive waves. Even though the waves were continuing to grow in size, I effortlessly leaped over them.
To save time, I then decided to leap from wave top to wave top instead. The waves were now around 150 feet high and about 400 feet apart, but I leapt from peak to peak. It was still effortless and I praised God as this continued. I really did not want it to end.
Suddenly, over the horizon, I saw a wave thousands of feet high. It was so high that it looked like a mountain range. I knew that it would hit me in about 2 minutes or so, but I had no fear. I decided I would leap to the very top.
I screamed out praise over the sound of the music and asked for the ability to leap as high as a mountain. I somehow knew that I could remove it instead, but I had no fear and wanted to hit it head on.
Stage 4 – The Massive Mountain Wave: The Massive Mountain Wave was almost here. I only had about 12 or so peaks to leap across (not sure how many, just a guess) and it would be here.
Music and lyrics in the background: “But the stone was just the right size to put the giant on the ground. And the waves they don’t seem so high from on top of them looking down. I will soar with the wings of eagles when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus singing over me!”
I leaped from the last of the smaller waves and headed straight up to the top of the Massive Mountain Wave. I stood there riding it for a second when the lyrics hit the part of soaring with the wings of eagles.
I saw a mist of fresh water above me about twice as high as the Massive Mountain Wave. I leaped for it just as the lyrics went to the part about the sound of Jesus singing over me (btw, this part of the song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it).
I hit the mist and decided to breathe it in. It felt incredibly good. Just as I did, the clouds above me parted and the sun hit me. The sunlight warmed my face as I spread out my arms in praise. I shouted out, “Oh Father, all is for Your glory!”
Dream over…
When I woke up, I remembered the dream perfectly. Within seconds, I noticed that my throat was now back to normal. It was no longer sore at all.
Now, I am not the type of person to weep with joy, but I woke up Erin and told her about my dream. I kept it together for about 75% of it, but, unexpectedly, my voice cracked and I started to weep.
Anyways, this was such an overwhelmingly awesome dream that I cannot remember ever having a better one. We felt led to share it with all of you. I know waiting is tough, but I just know that the stage is already set and our time is already here. Never forget, even in the waiting, our God is here with us and He loves us so much. We are about soar on the wings of eagles!
