Communion
Dear Father,
Thank You! Thank You for all that You’ve done in my life! Thank You for every blessing! Thank You for every test and trial! Thank You for never giving up on me when I’m tired, weary and grumbling!
Father, this journey through the wilderness has truly been incredible! I would not trade it for anything in this life. Even our suffering is temporary. I just know when attacks come out of nowhere that these will come to nothing because ultimately You are over these and each serves a purpose.
You are saying to my vessel, “I know this has taken awhile, but in a little while you will be ready for what I have prepared for you!”
This last week was brutal, and yesterday was disheartening. The enemy brought me to my knees before God–exactly what he hoped I wouldn’t do. I had been chasing a mouse around the house–literally–and knew there had been evidence that she was preparing to nest in my closet. There was evidence surrounding some items I had not gone through since our move. I proceeded to remove everything from the area that a mouse could nest or hide in.
While doing so, I discovered something disturbing which I thought I had discarded in Canada. I proceeded to pray and bind the spirits attached to this and remove it. I cleaned for hours. I followed a trail and discovered this mouse had been store-housing dog kibble under the stairs. The rental company ordered a pest service on Tuesday last week since I had actually chased it under our living room sofa. I remembered how much damage mice can do in general. As I prayed I heard You say, “Find the breach, fortify your walls, then remove the threat!” Brilliant–a war analogy! Thank You, Jesus!
When the exterminator came, he sealed up a likely opening with steel wool and foam. Then he set some traps. By evening the pregnant mouse had been removed–the threat gone. I felt bad momentarily until You spoke to me, “Erin, this was a threat meant to distract you. It came from the wilderness into your house and saw that it was good. Left unchecked or free to give birth–then it multiplies, and quickly. The mouse was an unwelcome invader meant to distract you, discourage you, and drain you of your time, resources and peace!”
So, the exterminator will continue to visit every two weeks under the property owner’s plan with them. Yesterday I found another entry point and I fortified it also. Then, after feeling relief and praising You, Father, for the victory, I was attacked physically and through the governing bodies to the North from our old home. I broke down, I was exhausted. I had been drained from lack of sleep.
Last night I finally drifted off into a deep sleep. I had to wake up at 4:30am to phone back East, but then fell back to sleep.
Sub-dream 1 “The Five Angels and the Orchard” begins…
I was in a beautiful orchard. I had been recently looking at a painting from 1888, Vincent van Gogh’s The White Orchard. Maybe I had been influenced by that–but this was different, this was a wild orchard near our old home and my daughter’s old school in New Brunswick. I had an old friend who lived across the road and she told me the orchard was no longer cared for and the trees bear virtually no fruit.
Spring had just turned to summer (in the dream). I heard a chainsaw in the distance and I saw a group of men laughing and joking with each other while pruning these trees. As I walked closer I heard a whistle from one of them.
One of them yelled out, “There she is!” Another, “Join our party, Erin, this is for you!” They were angels–five in total. I recognized two, but not the other three.
Me: “Why did you bring a chainsaw for the pruning of branches?”
Angel 2: Holding the chainsaw, “It’s fun. Maybe a little extreme, but it’s good!”
They all laughed and smacked him on the arm.
Me: “No, really, what are you doing here?”
The angel I recognize from the last few dreams–ATV angel–said, “Erin, God has sent us to complete the pruning so this once wild, neglected orchard bears a great harvest.”
Angel 2: “It’s a wilderness orchard.”
The other angel whistled–it was Breakthrough.
Angel 1: “Breakthrough is here–we’ll prune this and it will bear a record fruit harvest. It’ll be beautiful.”
Me: “It’s pretty now.”
Angel 3: “Really? Ask the fruit trees if they are happy with the status quo. Seriously? They were created by God to bear fruit.”
Angel 2: “What is that saying?”
Angel 1: “All foam no…”
Angel 3: “No, not that one!” They all laughed. “What good are they to God if they are unable to produce the fruit they were designed for?”
Angel 4: “They are an undisciplined lot for sure.” (I couldn’t tell if he had a Scottish accent or Irish).
Me: “Who are all of you?”
Angel 1: “We have been assigned to you, Erin.”
Angel 2: “A full-time job, really.”
Me: “I’m sorry…” I became sad and began to cry.
Angel 1: “See, now, this is exactly what the Lord told us would happen. We are your joy crew today.”
Angel 3: “Erin, your life has been a great adventure because of God’s great plans from the beginning.”
Angel 4: “The enemy hates us–we have scuttled their course many times. Girly, the enemy has placed a bounty on you and your company.”
Angel 1: “Your family and friends–all of God’s children. Who we are for now is not as important as remembering that God has called His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
Angel 2: “God has given you this vast orchard–now is the time to see the fruits of your life.”
Me: “But a chainsaw?”
Angel 3: “So, I will come back to you on this one question–are you happy with the status quo here?”
Angel 1: “Come on guys, we all know Erin likes fruit!” He laughed.
Me: “I do, I love fruit.”
Angel 1: “Then Erin, don’t despise the pruning of your branches ordered by God so you receive the promised fruit.”
Angel 4: “Aye. It will be a beautiful bounty. We will celebrate with you.”
Angel 2: “Give all thanks and praises to God, Erin. He loves you and He has kept His promises.”
Angel 1: “Look over there!”
There was a portion of the orchard I had never seen before. I ran over to it.
Angel 3: “We have a runner, let’s go!”
All the angels came to the area. There was a beautiful row of fruit trees and baskets of fruit below. The trees were full and healthy. The leaves seemed to sing in the breeze. There were birds singing songs with them. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
I heard Breakthrough whistle.
Angel 1: “Breakthrough sends a tissue for this moment.”
Instead of a tissue, Breakthrough collected my tears in a small jar.
Me: “You must have a lot of these?” I laughed.
They all clapped.
Angel 3: “A smile–we have a smile!” They cheered. “Breakthrough is here!”
Angel 2: “No, literally, he is here. We are your joy crew.”
I turned to look at the row of trees which were once there next to the others.
Angel 1: “Okay, so, this was the extreme pruning God ordered. These bore no fruit nor would they have ever.”
Angel 2: “Look, Erin, pruning is a craft of God who is the bearer of your orchards. If there are trees which produce nothing but drain the other trees in the orchard, well, then…” He started up the chainsaw.
Me: “Oh wow, there are so many here. They are like…severed. Did you get carried away?”
Angel 3: “No, none of us go outside God’s orders. Not even one branch is removed that God did not order.”
Angel 4: “Aye–not one, and the enemy fights against us as we go.” He walked around and fist bumped all of his friends. “But we are fighters.”
Me: “Thank you! Thank–“ Breakthrough walked up to me and placed his finger on my lips and said, “No”, by shaking his head.
Angel 1: “Erin, don’t thank us. God called us, remember?”
Me: “So, are you allowing the troubles?”
Angel 2: “No–we are under orders. Here we are pruning your orchard, this can sometimes be painful for you. It is sometimes difficult to watch you suffer.”
They all became sad.
Angel 1: “But we serve God and we know the plans He has for you are epic.”
Angel 3: “He prepared a great place for you. He loves you, Erin. All that He does is for your good.”
Me: “Please don’t cut anything else down like this over here…?”
Angel 4: “Girly, this was good work–if they had remained, they’d have infected the other trees.”
Angel 1: “Yep, a mass casualty incident and definitely not fruitful. God ordered it, Erin, we carried it out. This is your orchard, your life and ministry is a gift from God.”
Just then, my door opened and I woke up.
Sub-dream 1 over…
My daughter was off to work and had dropped off my little dog onto the bed. She has seemed to have more joy these days. We said, “I love you”, and she left to work.
I laid there and prayed, “God, thank You for my pruning!” I got up and went to the Lord.
Jesus: “I am here, Erin. I am with you. My voice is in you. You have met your crew–well, My crew, assigned to you.”
Me: “Thank You, Lord. Thank You for sending help and caring for my branches.”
Jesus: “I know this has been painful for you. Remember why the pruning must occur.”
Me: “So the branches bear fruit.”
Jesus: “Yes, but go deeper still. The enemy sends in distractions of various kinds into your life. These are meant and designed specifically to remove your resources, your joy, your hope, your strength, and even your life. Anything which doesn’t bear fruit in your life must be removed.”
Me: “I thought I had done this Lord.” I sighed.
Jesus: “Yes you have but a spruce up doesn’t hurt.”
Me: “The one angel had a chainsaw.”
Jesus: “Yes, the angels sometimes enjoy their tools. But understand that they are doing the Will of My Father in Heaven. They are assigned to watch over you in all you do as the enemy seeks to strike down the children of God. So many are tired and weak from a lack of understanding of the enemy schemes. The enemy attacks from all angles. He is relentless in pursuing destruction. God has ordered for You to be as one who is a clarion call. Right now you are removing that which was not beneficial in your life.”
Me: “Lord, could You remove all that so I produce good fruit and my orchard, a record harvest?”
Jesus: “Yes, by surrendering to Me all which must be pruned. You know there are angels who guard your way.”
Me: “They are funny, Lord.”
Jesus: “They are specifically assigned to restore and maintain your orchard which has been assigned to you from birth.”
Me: “Lord, are those stumps broken dreams?”
Jesus: “There are very few stumps compared to the size of your orchard. Do not focus on what was lost here, instead focus on what this area as a whole–your life will produce because of this. Now, the angels are certainly strong enough to remove any stump which was once a fruitless tree. They enjoy motorized vehicles.”
Me: “Like a backhoe?”
Jesus: “Well, there are more advanced machines in heavenly places. For that matter, I could remove them with one breath. But for the sake of your orchard, as an illustration of your life, it is better to leave the row of stumps to remember that I will send angels to cut down anything contrary to the plans I have for you.”
Me: “So, these are love stumps–tough love stumps.”
Jesus: “Now you know why these angels were assigned to you, Erin. So you would smile and see the beautiful trees past the remnant stumps. I have you, do not worry.”
Me: “Lord, thank You for Your love, Your grace and Your mercy. I’m overflowing with joy in my heart. I am blessed to know You.”
Jesus: “Remember, I first chose you, Erin. I know this life has been painful and I am sorry but I send help. I answer your calls. What looks like certain destruction ahead is actually a divine lesson in faith and trust in Me. Remember to choose Me over fear. I have never forsaken you, even when certain destruction seemed the way forward according to the enemy–instead, I sent an army of angels in to remove the threat. It is easy to be so sure of your steps that you become afraid when you see that the path has taken a dark turn. Just remember, cry out to Me in uncertainty and I will deliver you from the enemy threat! When you see trouble, ask Me for help! I am quick to answer and mighty to save! Do not forget this!”
Me: “I need You now, Lord.”
Jesus: “I know–I have this, do not worry.”
Me: “Lord, what if You grow tired of me? I speak sometimes like I have no faith, but I do.”
Jesus: “Erin, you still pursue Me. You still come! You don’t stop. I don’t stop. I am faithful to complete a good work in you. Remember, even something which is related to ministry at church or similar commitments can drain you and do not serve My purposes in you. The enemy is clever. Things of God bring good fruit and vitalize your spirit, your joy is increased. Things which are not of Me drain you and remove your joy and peace. These things remove necessary nutrients the branch needs to produce good fruit. This is why this branch needs pruning. You have been shown a wild orchard in need of pruning. You also saw a portion of the orchard which has been producing good fruit. There will be a record harvest, Erin, this is your orchard. God’s plans will not be thwarted here. There will be necessary pruning. I am also the Groom and you are My Bride, we are as one and nothing shall destroy the plans of the Groom to collect His Bride.”
Me: “I will surrender my orchard to You, Lord. I want to make You happy.”
Jesus: “Then this is good.”
