Communion

Dear Father,

Thank You for another day here! Thank You for everything You do! You have truly carried me in Your arms all of my life! You have always been here with me. You are in me in greater measure because of my brokenness. You remain with me and I am forever grateful for Your presence. One day soon I will know all the ways You helped me. The ways You stood up for me. The ways You love me and know everything about me. The way I think. And at the end of each day–good or bad–You are there to minister to me in hope and truth.

Today marks the 11th anniversary of my mom’s passing. I haven’t been home in 11 years. Now I must drive up for a celebration of life ceremony for an old friend. It will be bittersweet. I’ll be able to see family but it must be sadly short. I will finally be able to spread my mom’s ashes at a place where she would go. I miss her. Father, it’s not an ideal time to make this journey but every time I think of a reason I “can’t go until spring”, I feel sick in my stomach as if not going is worse. So today I’m making plans. Please watch over me, Father, in all I do. I’ll travel for two days and be there for two, unless plans change and You cut the trip short.

I’m facing so many unknowns right now. My surgery is in November. It had to be moved out because of physical therapy and medication stuff. I don’t enjoy change. I’m going to ask You, Father, something I rarely ask for…It isn’t an easy ask. Please watch over me as I step. Please bless my steps. May Your Will be done in all things. May I also be a blessing to You. I’ve been struggling with changes beyond my abilities to control the outcome. So I surrender my life to You. I ask for You to bless me and carry me the right way. Please give me grace. I love You.

Yesterday seemed to be some sort of marker, September 22. Everywhere I looked there was the number 22. I don’t think I’ve had that many number signals in one day. Everything from Psalm 22, to $22 on my grocery bill, to 22 in various addresses and other things. There were at least ten instances. The last 22 was behind a podium of a public speaker on the news just as the clock went past midnight to September 23.

This week is significant on the world stage too. The United Nations is in session and the enemies of the U.S. and Israel are there. It’s truly historic. At 5:05pm it was the first day of fall on September 22. Trump gave a speech rebuking the nations against terror. Father, please protect our leaders and Israel against all these attacks. Psalm 22 is actually applicable to September 22.

I’m no longer having dreams of our home in Canada. This seems to be complete. You reminded me that You brought me there originally for rest and communion with You. You also reminded me that it was temporary until You removed me to the place of promise, here, where I can worship You in song. It seems instead I have been lamenting. The good news is the Canadian tax officials have accepted my filing and have confirmed what I paid after auditing me. I’m glad this portion is over, it added to my stress. Now I wait for the IRS to decide my case here in the U.S. I pray they have mercy on me and I do not need to pay a double portion. I choose faith over fear, Father, as You see everything. May this all come to nothing.

Sub-dream 1 “The Schooner” begins…

I was on an old wooden ship–a schooner. I was with several people. It was a museum on the water type of ship, like one I toured in Boston Harbor in 1975. It was a sunny day and everyone was enjoying the tour. When the captain made the call to put up the masts and sails he asked us if we would like to go for a harbor tour about two hours long. We all agreed.

The Captain navigated this schooner–which was dwarfed beside the freight liners we had passed. We headed out into the open sea. The bell from the ship was ringing and we all cheered. The captain said that we would go southward. I could tell that we had left Boston Harbor and were now near Nantucket. Then the Captain said, “We are amongst two great cities, we will put down an anchor and those who would like to take a dingy to Nantucket can.”

I raised my hand. Hardly anyone wanted to go. There ended up being less than a quarter of the hundred passengers that went. The Captain waved to us as we neared Nantucket’s docks. We walked around for about half an hour before our tour guide announced we must return to the ship. We all agreed and had walked back to the dock, only to find the dingy was gone and the ship had left.

As we stood there silently there were two incoming missiles–one hit to the north and the other to the south. Everyone was screaming. I heard, “Take shelter, we don’t know what is coming!” And another screamed, “The USA is under attack!”

I woke up and checked my phone to see if it actually happened–it was so real. There was nothing.

I fell back asleep.

Sub-dream 2 “Jesus in the Meadow” begins…

I heard the Lord’s voice, “Wake up, Erin. Meet me at the still waters.” It was right at dawn. I was in a beautiful meadow. There were sheep grazing quietly. The sky had gone from a deep blue to a lighter pink. The sun was about to rise. It was a scene from heavenly places, not here. As the sun rose to my east, I could hear flocks of birds overhead land near the riverbanks to drink. I ran down to the banks of the river to take a drink. I was thirsty.

The water was tropical looking, like sea green. Pure and clear. I could see the bottom. I waded in. The temperature was perfect. I submerged my whole body. I felt a rush of warmth which was healing. When I came back up I began to cry. “Thank You, Father.” The birds were bathing too and not afraid of me. The bottom of the river was sandy. I could see beautiful fish, like trout or salmon.

I began to cry.

Me:  “I miss this, Father. I’m ready to come Home for healing. It’s becoming harder now.”

Jesus:  “I’m here, Erin.”

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and it was the Lord. I reached over to hug Him. I wept with my head on His chest. He held me.

Jesus:  “It’s okay. I am here. I am where you are. You reside with Me, Erin, this is your home. You are a foreigner on Earth.”

Just then, as I looked around there were animals of every kind there along the banks of the river, listening to the Lord speak. They were quiet. Animals considered predators on Earth were sitting next to prey. It was beautiful.

Jesus:  “There are no storms here, just refreshing rain. You are in the midst of a storm, Erin, but I am with you. I told you this part of your journey would not be an easy one. I know you have lost much but here you have gained everything. I know you are weary and your days of pain have been long, but My joy is still upon your face and hope is at your gate. Take the time to return to Me daily and be refreshed in My Spirit. Let me minister to you in the truth of who you are in Me. Come and sit beside Me and I will tell you mysteries in things great and small. I will refresh your soul and strengthen you and by My breath I will give you new life. I have never left you. You continue to seek Me, therefore you are found by Me, understand?

“I promise to remain and My promises are true. You are hated in this life because of Me. You are despised and have suffered and this is the beginning of sorrows. What you know to be true you wrestle, but I promise you I have a great plan in place. You have seen what the outcome brings and this is written. It is the journey. It is the storms along the way in which I shelter and deliver you from. The storms are to strengthen you for what is coming. Not everyone makes it, understand?”

Me:  “I think so.”

Jesus:  “This is the point of the storm.”

Me:  “Oh, it is like the furnace.”

Jesus:  “Yes, but it is different. The Potter fires the pot He has shaped and glazed. Then He uses this vessel to hold living water for His purposes. Then the Potter tests the pot under various conditions once it’s filled. Will it remain upright when the ground shakes and storms come? Only I know because I am the Potter. Understand? I look at the strength of heart as the strength of the vessel.”

Me:  “So, could You transform us, Lord? Make us strong now?”

Jesus:  “When Moses came down from the mountain the people were bored and impatient, they wanted to worship an idol so Aaron accommodated them in the meantime. Well, you’re at the base of a mountain waiting. Worship Me with your whole heart. Don’t be like these people or even Aaron. It is not your job to craft an idol for bored children of God, understand?”

Me:  “Yes, Lord.”

Jesus:  “Stay with Me. Allow Me to lead you. Don’t feel pressured to do this or that for man. Your job is to serve Me, then serve others, not build an idol, understand?”

Me:  “I think so.”

Jesus:  “Erin, pray for those around you that none would perish but that all would have everlasting life here with Me in this beautiful place I’ve prepared for those who love Me. I am with you. I will take you–carry you–through the storms. I have you.”

He reached over to hug me and I woke up.

Sub-dream 2 over…

Thank You, Lord for these reminder dreams! Thank You for Your grace and mercy.
